We have come together with the Scottish AI Alliance to help third-sector organisations and the communities they serve navigate the important conversation on Artificial Intelligence. We think that conversations about AI need a third-sector voice, and this introductory guide can help people working in the communities of Scotland get involved in shaping how we reach a trustworthy, ethical and inclusive relationship with AI technologies.

The guide has been created to help charities, voluntary organisations, social enterprises, community groups and ethical businesses to understand what AI is, and to present the societal, environmental and privacy considerations we need to balance as we develop our use of AI, with the exciting potential it has to be utilised for good. We've also included a Jargon Buster Glossary to breakdown technical language.

Going forward we plan to deliver practical, hands on support to third sector organisations to maximise their use of AI tools and provide training so teams can learn together and develop practices and policies that align with their organisational values.

Our upcoming event on the 18th September 'Jargon Busting: What does AI mean to you?' will be an information packed evening and our conversations with the audience will inform the type of the support that is needed across the sector on this topic.
